River City Housing & Louisville's FIRST Shared Equity Home -SOLD
We are absolutely thrilled to share that our newly created River City Housing Shared Equity Program was able to close on not only our FIRST but also Louisville’s FIRST shared equity housing model home. The RCH Shared Equity Program will help more buyers to afford their first purchase of a high-quality, energy-efficient home with permanent affordability that will be passed along to any subsequent buyers of the same home in the future.
Shared equity housing models have been used successfully across the country as a strategy to overcome the displacement of residents in appreciating neighborhoods due to redevelopment and to keep homeownership attainable as sales prices and interest rates continue to rise. Mayor Greenberg also recently emphasized the shared equity housing model as a priority in the 2023 ‘My Louisville Home’ Affordable Housing Strategy Plan.
We want to send a huge “THANK YOU” to our RCH Board Members & Shared Equity Committee for your support, time, and input as we worked diligently to get this program established. We also want to thank each of our partners that made homeownership a reality for our buyer: Lisa J Houston LJH Infinity Realtors, John Borders Borders & Borders Attorneys, Kathleen LeBlond, Steve Coleman Republic Bank, Michele Johnson Louisville Metro Housing Authority Section 8, Louisville Jefferson County Metro Housing & Community Development Dept, Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati, Habitat for Humanity of Metro Louisville, Louisville Metro Housing Authority Housing Communities and @Jason Webb Grounded Solutions Network.
We couldn’t be more excited for her and what the RCH Shared Equity Program will mean for housing affordability for more of our buyers for generations to come.
